I'm trying to use my KR1 in the simplest capacity with my KPC650 card. Obtaining network connectivity just fine, but when I try to use VPN, I start running into problems. The log is included, save for the very last entry, in which I'm told that I can't get an IP address.

I get all the way through the handshaking process to the bitter end, and then I get denied? Is this the IKE process people have been referring to? Is this the same problem that people have said that Kyocera won't fix with this platform?

Of course, I don't have a problem when I plug the KPC650 directly into the laptop. But that's not the reason I bought all these nifty toys.

If anyone's got any insight, I'd love to hear it.

- Jeff

Well, the Netstructure VPN client appears to be speaking UDP 2233 (used ethereal to watch the network traffic). I tried opening those ports, but that didn't work. I again tried putting the machine outside the DMZ, and that didn't work either.

I looked at both support sites for Kyocera and D-Link. There was one suggestion on how to get the Nortel VPN client to work, and I tried following that suggestion, to no avail.

I called the number listed on the Kyocera site, and they walked me through the same process and then said that I should talk to Kyocera directly (looks like Kyocera outsources their first level support). Got a direct number to Kyocera, but they appear to be closed now.

If anyone has any suggestions of other possible things to try, I'd really like to hear about it.

Thanks,

- Jeff
