Got second KR-1 (first one they told me to send back - turned into brick). Went through wizard with no errors. Then used USB Flash Drive to go through moving wireless connections to two laptops which seemed to work OK. When I tried to establish wireless connection to either laptop it goes only as far as "Aquiring Network Connections" and goes no further on either laptop. Any ideas as to how I can move forward? |

First, I assume the KR1 is the access point and that you are pointing your app to it.
You haven't said if you have WEP, WPA or no security. I would try with no security to eliminate that as a problem. Also does a hardwire ethernet connection work?
Do you have it set to a specific channel and does it appear in a scanned list of wireless access points, and are you manually selecting it? (In my apartment I get six, and it WILL sometimes try to connect to a different one and get stuck).
I don't know the message "Acquiring Network Connections" - do you mean "acquiring network address" (in which case you need the KR1 to be doing DHCP). |

What operating system are your laptops running? This sounds like it might be a conflict between Windows Wireless Zero Configuration Service and the native software that came with your WiFi adapter. This will only occur in Windows XP, though.
If you are running Windows XP, I suggest making a choice between Windows Wireless Zero Configuration Service and the software that came with your adapter and then disabling the other one. To disable the Wireless Zero Service, go to Start > Run > type services.msc > press enter > scroll to Wireless Zero Configuration > right click > select properties > make it disabled and stop the service. This will allow the third party software to run error free for the most part. The alternative is to simply uninstall the third party software. |
