Hi all
I'm looking at alternatives re. different ways to access the Net with the EVDO, and my question is which device provides the best reception and performance, a Kyocera card or a EVDO enabled phone?
thanks in advance

| A card is the best for reception since you can use and external antenna another benefit is if you need to talk on the phone and be online at the same time. You don’t have to disconnect your data session EVDO phones cant do voice and data simultaneously |

| Most phones do have external antenna ports so do not rule out the phone option completely. |

Matt is right as far as I know the majority of EVDO phones do have RF out ports. Depends on your carrier. The verizon phones are alot easier to work with cable wise. The Sprint phones can be a real pain as for as RF ports are concerned. I guess it depends how much you are going to use the connection. If it is for just a quick connection to check email a phone would make sense as you do not need to pay for full plan . But if you are looking to use it alot you are much better served getting a card and signing up for a plan.
Just my 2 cents |

I've used both.
the card is vastly superior for speed and a problem free connection.
I still get a good signal with my a920, but the speeds are significantly impacted. |
