|
|
Apologies if it's in a FAQ I've missed.
I've heard all kinds of pronunciations, yet I've never spoken with anybody very confident about its generally-accepted pronunciation. I tend to say 'ev (as in ever) do' (as in dough - because it stood for Data Only before it became data optimized, I believe).
Other folks simply say Do, like the verb (doo). Heard one guy call it Eve-do, and I've heard just the letters e-v-d-o a few times, which is way too long and ponderous to boot.
More often than not when I start a convo about EVDO, even with sales folks they'll try to stay away from actually having to say the thing. (Cowards!)
So, who's the authority on this? And what are your sources?
Thanx. Meanwhile I'll just continue mispronouncing it. Nex |

I pronounce EVDO as E as in Eat, V as in Victor, D as in Day, O as in Opera. _________________ EVDO Addict. |

| I have wondered that myself but I would guess, E-Vee Dough but when talking to people I spell it out. |
