I have been having all sorts of trouble with my V620 in Atlanta. Many calls to Verizon have resulted in the latest:

I am eqaul distance to 3 towers which makes my modem jump from tower to tower. When it does this it disconnects a lot and drops to National. This makes the service basically a real pain in the butt for $80/month. I can't stay on Broadband for more than 2 or 3 minutes usually.

Verizon's latest suggestion was that there is a problem with the drivers. The only patch is to download the default driver from Microsoft from their downloads page until the vendor releases new drivers that really work. I did this, and it helped a bit, but it is not a real fix for the problem. It did help some though...so you all might want to look into it.

I am about ready to try and make them take the modem back. I am beyond my 15 days, but I have a long hisotry of the card not working where I live (well within their service territory.) I wonder if they will torture me on this or just let me out.

How did you find out that you were equal distance to 3 towers?

I would imagine that this *could* potentially affect others as well.

Maybe a Yagi type antenna, that you aim at one tower would be a solution? I know of others on the forums, that have used Yagi antennas.

Verizon customer service told me that I was between 3 towers a couple of times. They always started by saying I was outside the service territory, because they really don't bother to check the first time, then they actually look my address up and reach the tower conclusion. They even said they were going to hard code me to one tower, but that seems to have been replaced by the new driver explanation.
