Getting ready to order evdo with Sprint, and I plan on using it with the Kyocera KR1 router. I wasn't sure if there was a preferred card to use with it - the Aircard 580 or Merlin 620.

The only card that doesn't have an antenna port is the PC5740. Both the Aircard 580 and Merlin S620 have antenna connectors.

There was a small problem with the 620 card and the KR1 on the first batch, BUT the backorders that are starting to ship this week (and the week after), will have a fix so this is no longer a problem (Edit: Only a few had this problem, the S620 + KR1 do indeed work great - we use it every day).

If you are planning on using an external antenna/amplifier, I would recommend the Merlin S620, it has a much sturdier external antenna port (compared to the AirCard 580).

I have been using an S620 with the KR1 successfully for over a month. I am happy with both products except for the lack of Sprint Mac support for the S620.
