Hello,

I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing similar behavior to what I am experiencing. I have been running the ByteMobile standalone Optimization Client (from SouthernLinc) to disable optimization on my Sprint EV-DO connection.

For the past few days, every time I attempt to start the client, the icon remains red and errors out with "Service not available." Is anyone else experiencing this? I am wondering if it is a network-wide issue, or limited to my current set up.

Thanks for the responses in advance.

Best,
Greg

I just recently started using the client and found that it only works about half of the time. It'll either work or i'll get the same message you did. Once when I couldn't connect to the bytemobile server, I disconnected, ejected and re-inserted the card, and then reconnected. After that, I was able to connect to the bytemobile server. You could try that, but otherwise, it sounds like their server isn't maintained very well.

ByteMobil.Evil=True It is EVIL! I had to do a Winsock fixt after i installed it because every time i would exit out of IE, FF, or even WMP, it would crash with a memory error. I even re-loaded Windows cuz I thought it was a virus. Of course not, everything was fine and dandy until I installed thwe ByteMobile software again, and it freaked out and did the same thing. I had to a winsock fix to get it fixed.
