First after you pick your montly minute plan you can add these two:

Sprint Power VisionSM Access Pack $15
Flexible Data Plan for Phone as Modem $25

$15 gets you this:

Unlimited Sprint Power VisionSM Access includes:

* Unlimited Web and Data access
* Watch live TV on the go with streaming Live News Channel featuring
ABC News Now
* Streaming Radio Channel with Sirius Hits

Sprint Power VisionSM is available only while on the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network. Sprint Power VisionSM Packs are not available with Sprint PCS Connection Cards™, Sprint PCS Connection Kits™ or other devices that can be used as a modem. Customers with a Sprint PCS VisionSM phone or a Sprint Power VisionSM phone will be charged $0.02 per kilobyte for Sprint PCS VisionSM or Sprint Power VisionSM usage unless a Sprint PCS VisionSM Pack or Sprint Power VisionSM Pack is selected.

$25 gets you this:

Sprint Phone as Modem Pack

Your Sprint Power VisionSM phone can be a high-speed Internet connection for your laptop computer anywhere on the Sprint wireless high-speed multimedia network. Connect your Power Vision phone using a USB cable or the built-in connection on Bluetooth-enabled phones.

* Includes Picture Mail and Sprint TVSM.
* Unlimited usage for the first month. After one month, use the MB
included in your plan.
* One–year subscriber agreement required.
* Requires a voice plan.
* Sprint Power VisionSM is available only while on the Nationwide Sprint
PCS Network.
* Sprint PCS Vision Packs and Sprint Power VisionSM Packs are not
available with Sprint PCS Connection Cards™, Sprint PCS Connection
Kits™ or other devices that can be used as a modem
* Customers with a Sprint PCS VisionSM phone or a Sprint Power
VisionSM phone will be charged $0.02 per kilobyte for Sprint PCS
VisionSM or Sprint Power VisionSM usage unless a Sprint PCS
VisionSM Pack or Sprint Power VisionSM Pack is selected.

Now the guy who sold me the PPC 6700 said that it would benefit me more to pick the $25 add on so I did. Now why is there other charges for phone as modem like these:

$40 for 40MB or $80 for Unlimited MB

* A two-year PCS Advantage Agreement is required.
* Additional kilobytes $0.001 unless Unlimited MB plan is selected.
* Additional $0.20/minute charge for calls made on PCS Connection
Cards™ with voice capability.

Basically I want full internet access in my PDA smartphone so I can stream video and audio for now. Which plan is that?

I would also like to add the service to use the phone as a modem to use my laptop. Which do I need for that?

ANY HELP...

All you need is the $15 plan for the 6700. The $40 & $80 plans are for the EVDO laptop cards. You do not need a tethering plan because Sprint can not monitor the web usage on the 6700 as it can on other devices - so they have no way to tracking your usage as they would on a non-pda EVDO enabled phone. The $15 plan will get you all you need - just don't try to run 2-3 computers off of it full time!

I just signed up for the unlimited pam (phone as modem) and signed up for the 29.99 a month for 200 minutes.

what the cs tech told me was that the 39.99 a month unlimited pam (and the flexible pam) INCLUDE power vision services on your phone. so, you have unlimited power vision on the phone and unlimited phone as modem minutes for the 39.99 a month.

with the 40 mb plan, I think I went through 15 mb just in the first time I connected with pam! so don't think it is worth much besides checking email.

also meant to add:

he also told me there is another plan that is not advertised exactly. he said instead of getting a voice plan, you can get the pam plan for 39.99 a month and then .20 a minute for voice minutes so if you don't use the cellphone much it would be cheaper (the 29.99 would pay for up to 150 minutes but you wouldn't get free nights and weekends).

he also told me if I sign up for the 29.99 for 200 minutes now that I can change to the 20 cents a minute later if I find I use less than 150 minutes a month.

hth.

i just signed up with sprint. i took the 49.99 unlimited phone as modem plan, which they gave me for 39.99 with phone plan. however they told me it didnt include the vision web/tvradio stuff and i'd have to pay extra for that too. that seems like a rip off since im paying so much for the unlimited. i called the customer service center and they told me the same thing.

Right, $40/month gets you the unlimited data... for both PAM and in-use phone. The pay content isn't included. Sprint's data is cheap and they plan to profit more from content. The data deal is pretty good and doesn't force you into content that you may not want.

There is much more flexibility streaming any kind of content using Orb or Slingbox on PDAs. Or if using PAM to laptop, there is a huge amount of free content available through Windows/Mac/etc.
