| I feel like I've been waiting forever for my backordered KR1 to ship. The frustrating part to me is that Kyocera is forcing us to wait to fix what amount to a couple of minor issues in their firmware that don't affect the core functionality of their product. They're punishing the early adopters who have been patiently waiting for this product for a long time. Ship it and let us upgrade the firmware later. This is technology. There will always be bugs and thaty's why the device has a firmware upgrade mechanism. |

Believe me, you're not the only one frustrated. The reason for the wait is a good one, however. The bugs that are fixed in RK1002 were not quite so minor as you might think and did cause critical core functionality to fail. Additionally, with the problems the first batch had with the Novatel 620 cards, additional steps are being taken to ensure that the next batch works better. I know waiting sucks but it is better to wait and do things correctly than to rush and have worse problems later on. It's a business stand on quality that, in the long run, works out better for everyone. |

The issues with the Novatel card are irrelavent to me. I have a Kyocera card. I could really care less about hardware setup wizards. (In fact, I wish someone would patent the concept and refuse to allow anyone to license it).
It's a business stance catered towards the technologically incompetent. That does not work out better for everyone. In particular, it penalizes the tech savy early adopter. Just my $.02. I'd have rather been given the choice of recieving my unit now and upgrading it later. |

Is there a list of the known problems that were fixed in the R1002, or what are being worked on? Any tentative release date so I can update my box?
The wireless seems to go down although the card and the light are still good (If I do ifconfig ath0 down; ifconfig ath0 up it starts working again). It happens rarely but enough to be annoying. |
