Using the Sprint CDMA Dialer Program rate limits the modem!

Quick tip to boost the wireless connection speed if you are using the PPC-6700 as a wireless USB modem...

If you use the Sprint provided "CDMA Dialer" modem application, it seems to rate limit and change the modem settings to around 230Kbps each time you start the program - even though the EV-DO modem connection itself could reach higher.

Seems obviously that Sprint is just using this program in an attempt to sell one data service and deliver another....

1) Under the Network Settings, I changed the USB Wmodem properties directly and boost the speed to the max of 921600bps

2) DO NOT use the CDMA Dialer program - maybe even remove it from the desktop - if you start it, it will change the modem setting back to 23400!

3) Simply drag the connection (under Network Settings) to your desktop to create a shortcut and use that instead - it will "dial" #777 and provide much faster speeds!
