I am drooling over this ultra cool (read: geeky) setup...looking for anyone who might be ahead of me and has used the Kyocera router and VZ BB 7130e successfully.

The BB 7130e works perfectly with my laptop, but I would like to share the wealth with this very cool Wi-Fi router. Speeds during the off-peak usage periods can be incredible...although they will probably nosedive when the popularity outpaces the EVDO infrastructure capacity.

I am hoping to use this setup at some of my sites...however, if you can get a strong and reliable EVDO signal you can probably be reached by DSL or cable modem service.

Any feedback would be appreciated...I will probably get an itchy trigger finger and buy one within the next few weeks in any case.

Hello, Accounting?...what was that R&D GL number again?

---------------------------------------------------------

Here is what they say about handsets...

You MUST have an active 1xEV-DO PC Card or 1xEV-DO handset in order to use the Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router. 1xEV-DO-capable handsets that can be used as a modem (support tethered data) may be compatible with the Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router. Please refer to your service provider for detailed feature information.

7130e is not a supported EVDO phone for the KR1 - so it will not work. There is another thread in these forums that list the phones that work. Keep in mind, drivers have to exist in the KR1 in order to support a PC Card or Phone.
