I'm curious about this as well, would the osx 10.3.5+ be sufficient?

EDIT: DATE: 3/2 - 10:30PM Central

I just got off the phone with VZW and the customer service rep advised it is mac compatiable. I'll be looking at getting this in the very near future, they also advised you may get a better deal at an agent vs their web site.

I hope this helps. When I get it as well as my 15" PB, I'll let ya'll know.

I just got off the phone w/ VZW and was told they do NOT have a Mac driver. Could you please post more info about who you talked to and how to get the drivers?

Thanks.

If you ask Verizon if they support the Mac with a PC 5220 card, they also tell you that they DO NOT, even though it works fine. So, I wouldn't go by exactly what they tell you.

Yes, I know that and told the VZW rep that as well. I asked him to check further with tech support, and the answer was still no. That's why I asked for the previous poster to post more info when he got the YES from VZW.

Any info on Mac drivers for V620 would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am also waiting to see if the V620 works with MAC. I went to my local Verizon store today and they are completly clueless. They didn't even know there was a new card available, they said the only card available is the 5220. So, I had to educate them. Anxiously awaiting reports from anyone that has success with the V620 on a MAC.

I can verify that the V620 does NOT work with OSX at this time. The driver that apple has for the 5220 will not work with the v620.

I purchased the v620 and an Audiovox XV6600 phone on Wednesday. I have been able to successfully connect my PB17 to the internet through the XV6600 via bluetooth using a program on the PPC called WModem. It is quite useful, but I am running into a bit of frustration with it. After 10-15 minutes the connection drops and the only way I have found to get it back up is to log out of OSX and log back in.

If anyone has ANY information about a v620 driver coming for the mac let me know, otherwise I will be returning it in the next week.

Hey Brandon,
What version of OSX are you running?
From what I have read if you have at least version 10.3.x that no drivers are required for the 5220, it just works. Older versions require the driver from MAC. So, just wanted to clarify what version OSX you are running with the V620. I really hope they get it working on the MAC soon. I am going to Georgia on a trip March 24th and would like to get EVDO and a V620 card prior to leaving.

Hello,

[EDITED]

At the same time, submitting a request to Apple to support the Novatel V620 would also be useful:

We have been in touch with someone who is working on a Mac OS X driver for the Novatel V620. We will post more information on this thread, or over at this page:

Too bad I didn't see this thread before I went to Verizon & purchased the wireless broadband.... The guy in the Verizon store said they would ship the card as they were using a new product. I received the 620 not the 5220 that I was expecting. After hours on the phone it is now apparent that I need a driver for this device to work on my Powerbook G4. Does it look like we will have something soon or should I return the card?

I would recommend that you return it and get a Sierra PC 5220, since at this time, that is the only EV-DO card that works on a PowerBook. As soon as there is news, it will be posted to this thread and the page below.

I'm keeping an eye on this too. I just got a v620 today. The Verizon guy I spoke with when ordering said it'd work on a Mac, too. He said it was the same card as the pc5220, just upgraded, so it'd be no problem. Unfortunately, this isn't quite true. Confused

OT: Anyone know if this will work on a PowerMac G5? I'm planning to use the v620 to go on the road in an RV with the G5 on board to be able to work on the road, but the G5 doesn't have a PC card slot, so I need to find a way to make it work.
