I have written before about a dispute with Robert Kim and will try to be brief about my inquiry. Background: He refused to credit us for returned equipment ($899) but I have resolved that with the credit card company despite the lapse in time. For those of you owed money by him, you can still get the credit card company involved after 60 days even though it is harder to do. Now here is the issue I am dealing with:
1. We bought a Kyocera 650 aircard from him with the promise of a $50 rebate for the card we "traded in." He has refused to honor that promise too. My position is that he is in breach of the agreement and I am now going to cancel service with him. There is no signed contract. His company Telepotence bills us monthly not Verizon. When I cancel service with Telepotence I plan to get the credit card company involved again. Here is the problem. How do I start a new service with Verizon using the existing card?
--- Can I use another sub agent? Get a new phone number?
---- Or, Is there a phone number for Verizon that can get me thru basic customer service to someone higher up? I just called and they are closed.
I understand that other sub agents probably won't make any money on this and probably don't want to touch it, but I want nothing to do with Robert Kim. My next payment is due to hit the card next week so I want to act fast. Again, thanks for helping out if you have answers. (THanks Mike for your help so far offline)

Cav21,
Glad the refund/chargeback is taken care of. What many consumers do not realize, is that if you don't get a refund, it is easy to work with the credit card companies to get your money back.
It isn't a problem for anyone to get service on an existing card from us, we do this all the time. You get a new account, new phone number, and Verizon bills you monthly for service (that is how it should work). The problem, here, is that you don't "own" the card, the Telepotence company does. To confirm this, email me (do not send on EVDOforums), the 11 digit ESN number on the back of the card - starts with a D:, and the phone number of the card. I can look it up to see who the account "belongs".
The one issue, is that if this card remains active and belongs to "another company", we cannot just activate it on a new account. However, your situation is unique and if we get the right person to listen at Verizon (we have some of those contacts - especially ones that don't exactly care of Robert Kim ), we may be able to get some action on this. We will try to get someone's attention in the right position at Verizon (but it may take a few days). There is someone lurking on these forums named VerizonGuy, and I think we may be able to help us in a big way (I will contact him to get him involved to help you get this resolved).
I wouldn't pay the next payment. If he deactivates the card, then it is free for you to activate on a new account (we can help you do that). There are a few things that Robert Kim can do to, but I am not going to post those here (don't want to help him in any way). _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I believe we can have the issue resolved very soon. However, there is information that we need from you (Cav21) in order to proceed with a meaningfull action. Information that shouldnt be posted on this forum to protect your identity.
First off, Verizon does not allow any kind of alteration to their monthly billing system, may that be Bob changing your billing address for the bill to be sent to his office, him paying it with his credit card and then billing you for it. Or somehow illegally altering your bill alltogether. I would imagine that his system somehow reflects some kind of earnings on his end. I dont know if he's charging you a little extra for his typical "consulting fee". This can perfectly fall into the realm of mail fraud among many other illegal acts that we have come to associate our "friend" with.
Bottom line is you have sadly and unexpectedly become another one of Bob's victims. I know for a fact Bob is not allowed to sell Verizon as himself. However, he will unfortunatelly remain in business thru the thousands of agents that can process his orders "under the table" for a price. A price that in the end, his victims pay.
Nevertheless, we can help you. Feel free to contact me via AIM (VZWMasterAgent) or contact Mike to have him give you my email address or phone number. |
