Just got a Novatel V620 and a new HP ZD8000 notebook (more like a luggable). Internet Explorer was crashing now and then do to ntdll.dll blowing up. Yahoo msg'er and MSN msg'er along with a few other apps were also crashing due to the same error. Called HP who of course was no help outside of telling me to reinstall windows and everything else (which I did a couple times). Finally tried using the dun config that VZA manger creates in the network connections instead. Well problem solved. No more crashes and everything is running stable. I miss some of the nice lil utils that VZA has but stability is the key. I can still use VZA to troubleshoot or update my nam if I need to.

BTW I did notify both HP and Verizon of the issue, not sure if either will act on it. Thus the reason I'm posting it here.

HP ZD8000 notebook

Blah Blah Blah...
XP Media 2005 service pk2

Novatel V620

Located in the Southhills of Pittsburgh PA In what is considered the "fringe area". I'm two blocks outside the EVDO coverage area. Verizon network tech support informed me that coverage should be extended to my address by the end of the month.

Signal strength at home anywhere between 54 to 87.
Download speeds anywhere from 14.4 to streaming 1.2mb with my highest brust at 1.6 (in a different location).
It does switch between EVDO and 1RX and at times it really is annoying.

FYI I did order the antena from here. Figured it couldn't hurt. Will post before and after results when I get it.

If it runs long enough to activate the card (options>activation), then turn it off (tell it NOT to start up when the pc boots), and make a manual dialer..

if you are verizon, it'd be
