| I tried enabling the firewall but it's asking me to "Please enter another name" and I'm not sure what to do. How do I know what IP address to type in or any of that other stuff like source and destination? I've only ever used Zone Alarm and never had a router before so I'm pretty clueless here. Should I just stick to Zone Alarm and ignore the firewall on the KR1? |

| The firewall on the KR1 comes turned on. The only reason to write a new firewall rule is to open a hole in the firewall for a specific port. Then, the user documentation is fairly clear on how to go about doing this. |

| The documentation says "by default the firewall rules is Disabled". When I try to enable it, it tells me to enter a name so that's what's got me confused. |

| There's a little bit of a misnomer here. In the userguide it states tha tthe default position for a firewall rule is disabled. This does not mean the firewall itself is disabled; this means that any rule you create will be disabled by default. When you create a firewall rule to allow a specific port on an IP, you must also select to enable that particular rule. The reason you were asked for a name is because you clicked apply with nothing in the name field for the rule. |

Ah, thanks Mackieman, it's all making sense now. The firewall is there and it can't be disabled so I'm good to go there.
Would you suggest keeping Zone Alarm along with the KR1 firewall? |

No, I suggest staying as far away from software firewalls as is humanly possible. |
