Um, you have a Windows Mobile 5 phone, not a Palm OS phone. Also, your screen is 240 x 240 pixels, whereas the 700P has a 320 x 320 screen. I agree the phones LOOK the same, but they're not. |

| I have read lots of different opinions, but over on sprintusers.com, some of the Sprint "insiders" say it will be at Sprint later next month. I certainly hope so! |

| The 700p will be my next phone if it happens. I've been holding out with my Treo 650 for a PalmOS-based EVDO phone. I've tested the 6700 and Treo 700w and just not impressed. PalmOS is getting old but still much more straightfoward than Windows Mobile. I do think WM5 will win in a couple more years but I'm sticking with PalmOS until it is truely dead. |

I agree. I was going to buy a 650, but decided to wait another month (hopefully!) for EVDO. I figure the Palm OS will probably last through '07 and then the Linux version will take over - but who knows. By the end of '07, I will be ready for another "toy" anyway! |

This is an image that someone scanned over on TreoCentral, claiming it came from Sprint...
http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/7973/n4cerscan7vb.jpg
Says May 28 release date. Says it would replace the 650 (no surprise). Will have Handmark's On Demand, EVDO, phone-as-modem, 128MB memory!, SD slot, bluetooth, streaming music/Sprint TV/PowerVision services.
Hope it's true. I'm there if it happens.
Glad they decided to stick with SD and not go to miniSD. Also, it is expected to allow greater than 2GB SD cards as a couple other new Palm devices do. The 650 will not take 4GB SD cards. And 16GB SD are expected in next year or so, possibly even 32GB by end of 2007.
EVDO PDA phones might be the iPod killer as you can stream video/music/pics from your home computer with Orb or Slingshot. Then again, only tech savvy users will do that while iPod is geared for ease of use to the masses.
BTW, the image also shows another EVDO phone coming. An LG phone with 1.3Mpix cam, MP3 player and FM "transmitter"? Like to play your MP3s or streaming music to your car radio maybe? |

I think it was determined that only 52-55MB was user accessible for programs/files etc.. It is still pretty good compared to the paltry 23MB available now on the 650. Like me, most have managed to get by with a launcher like Zlauncher or similar.
Usually the FM transmitter means it actually has an FM radio built into the phone to listen to FM radio like a few Sprint Nokias in the past. |

Yeah, I figured the full 128MB would not be entirely available to the OS but even to have the storage internal along with Zlauncher, it will be great to swap SD cards for media cards (music, video, TomTom maps) w/out having to lose access to your apps now that they would be all internal.
On the LG FM thing, they should call it a 'receiver' if just an FM radio. Either it was a typo or it is indeed an FM transmitter, which would be nifty. Imagine doing streaming music (via EVDO) broadcasted to your car radio or boom box, or even your call on speakerphone. But I've tried an MP3 USB key FM transmitter and it was pretty low quality. Worked though. |

| Anyone have an updated info on the release of this? Still looking like May 15th? I am in need of a new Treo, and if we are close - I will wait. |

I would certainly wait a couple of weeks, all sources seem to agree for an early May release. Phones have been spotted with both Verizon and Sprint markings so if there's an exclusivity contract hopefully it'll be a short one...I won't need one until Feb '07.
I love my Treo! _________________ Dell M1210 5700 |

| i think may 15th is really the ANNOUNCEMENT date - not necessarily the release date. I have read numerous threads that point to late May/early June availability. |
