|
|
I've searched and found posts for other model # cards but have yet to find data on how to "lock" the KPC650 onto EVDO. With the PC5220 and MCM, you could just do a field test and lock it into HDR and it would never step down to 1xRTT. I live in Metro Atlanta, and spend 99.99999% of my time in areas w/ EVDO coverage, so I would prefer it just stay locked onto the EVDO signal instead of stepping down now and again when it apparently gets irritated lol. Also, is there anyway w/ VZaccess to have it automatically re-establish a dropped connection? I have it automatically connect when I run it, but is there some sort of keep alive question?
Thanks for helping the forum newb!

Do you mean connecting to national network(1xrtt) and knocking you of Broadband(EVDO) . The solution for that is a good external antenna , amplifier or both |

I sent you the following email earlier:
| Quote: | Re-run the Setup Assistance, and when asked, select Detect PC Card Only, NOT PC Card or Airport/WiFi
Options -> Run Setup Assistant -> Detect WWAN device (mobile phone or PC Card) only
The default is to manage Airport and WWAN device, and it will automatically switch you, when near WiFi, with the above change, it will no longer do that - and that is the setting that we recommend. |

Is there any update on this info? I have searched the forums and couldn't find anything on locking the KPC650 on HDR.

I am checking with people at Kyocera to see if this is somehow hidden or can be made available in a future firmware. |
