I just wanted to say that my KR1 works 100% with the Samsung A900 and Samsung A920. I used a charging USB cable, so the router charges the phone at the same time.

Is there an updated list (as of 8/2006) of EVDO compatible phones with the KR1??
Its very confusing to me, and quite frankly frustrating to not have updates from Kyocera's site or a proper place.
I have a V620, but I think it's a waste of money if I can use a phone with the KR1 and use the phone when I'm not on the net.
Thanks!

My Samsung A900 on Sprint works perfectly, and with the original firmware for the KR1.

I, of course, looked there first; Im' not one of these people that complain without looking. There are many phones that supposedly work w/ the KR1 at least 4 or 5 and that link only says 1. Even MP3car has a couple of phones that work.
And the SCH890 is discontinued! Only on ebay you can get it.

There have been several references to adding KR-1 support for the PPC6700 over the last 6 months or so. Is anything happening with that? Is anything going to happen? I'd buy the router tomorrow if it would work with my phone; I suspect I'd only use it a few months out of every year so there's no way it makes sense for me to get a data card and another 2-year contract. - sheureka

I bought a Samsung A890 of off ebay and loaded with r001 firmware it was working fine, then I unplugged it and charged the phone and it wouldnt work.
I tried resetting the phone, resetting the router, then I upgraded the firmware, then I called VZ support (not much help, the guy didnt even know what a KR1 was!) ...
So know I using the phone as a tethered modem in my car computer, watching TV on the slingplayer I'm streaming between 300-420kbps, some significant drops occur in the city and sometimes the connection drops completely.
No support at all from dlink's website by the way, I dont even wanna call because I hate talking to their reps, they're all Indian and know nothing!
So now I'm thinking of buying a PC card and keep the phone and just switch the serial at the store when I dont need the data plan.
Verizon are a bunch of thieves, they dont support a data/voice plan on this phone, only on their expensive PDA's and I already have a blackberry with tmobile;;; this is such a pain!!! Rolling Eyes

Mackieman, do you know if the Treo 700p will be supported soon? Or ever? I tried to configure my KR1 but the router causes the Treo to crash repeatedly. Thanks.

OK, add me to the confused list! An earlier post says the I730 works with the KR1, but I followed the latest tech specs link and it does not mention that phone. Anyone know if the I730 with WM5 will work with the KR1 with the latest firmware? Thanks, Bruce

There is no support in KR1 for that phone.
