Hello,
We have just posted directions on how to use your Kyocera KPC 650 under Mac OS X. Once you follow these steps, your PowerBook will be able to connect via EVDO.
PowerBook Mac OS X Directions To Use Kyocera KPC 650
We ran into a snag with building an installer, so for now, you have to follow the directions. For those less technical, we will offer an installer that you can download. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Thanks for posting directions for getting this card to work; I am sure many have had great results.
I had made the same vendor/pci id changes that your instructions suggest about a week and a half ago without success. Following your instructions yields the same failing results.
For whatever reason I get this error in 10.3.9 and 10.3.8 when I insert the card:
"kernel: IOPCCard info: cs: cb_alloc(bus 1): unable to create cardbus nub for socket 0"
If you have any insight as to what is causing that issue and preventing the KPC650 from working that would be amazing. |

Yes, /var/log/system.log
When I remove the card it logs:
kernel: IOPCCard: shutting down socket 0.
It works like a charm in Windows XP (Dell Inspiron). Its been driving me nuts because I only use my Powerbook now. |

One other thought-
1.) do you have any other competing devices attached???
2.) have you tried re-installing the Apple driver???
also make sure you manually dump the kextcahe per instructions. |

Nothing is plugged in at all. No PC Cards no USB Devices.
I have installed the driver again and followed the instructions for the new setup with no luck.
My question is... what happens to people when they plug the card in (any unsupported card) before they have made driver modifications. I do not see the PC Card icon in the menu bar or a power light for the card. |

So I just installed Tiger and guess what! Same problem, same error in system.log
I don't have an issue with my PCMCIA card slot it works great if I plug in a Wi-Fi Card. |
