The EVDO/Windows Mobile 5-based Palm that Verizon released in Jan may be coming to Sprint end of Feb. Not getting great reviews compared to Treo 650.

There are also rumors that a couple more Palm-based Treos with EVDO will be coming around March-May.

One of my co-workers just got the Verizon one, and the screen needs to be made a bit bigger like the 650 is. Also, there is no tethering ability yet....unless there are some hacks out there Smile I'm gonna wait for the next version, hopefully all the bugs will be fixed by then.

^Yeah, the 240x240 700w screen is also not as bright as the 650's 320x320 screen. As far as phone as modem, Sprint officially allows it on all PowerVision phones so likely would on 700w.

Windows Mobile 5 is a huge improvement over PocketPC but still not as straightforward as PalmOS. Often takes more steps to do simple things, but there are some things I like such as better multitasking.

I'm not aware of other Windows-based Treos coming this year but the 2 other Treos supposedly coming will be PalmOS-based with EVDO. I'm still on Treo 650 as my primary and may stick with PalmOS for one more round. If a Windows fan, there will be more WM5-based phones from other makers this year. The Moto-Q looks interesting.

BTW, Verizon was apparently suppose to have exclusivity with 700w until June. I wonder if sales are so poor that they are not enforcing it?
