According to the most recent report published by OpenSignal, T-Mobile has the fastest LTE speeds on average in the United States.

Its average download speeds are 11.5Mbps, making it faster than AT&T’s 9.12Mbps, Verizon’s 7.82Mbps and Sprint’s 4.32Mbps.

When comparing LTE by Countries the USA has a lot of catching up to do.

I'm about 50 miles NW of Charlotte, very rural area. 6 Miles from the nearest tower, using a yagi with a uml290 in a MBR1200B router. This is an off time on my tower. I've spent 2 years cajoling Verizon - now I occasionally sit next to the tower with my S4 running Signalcheck app and troubleshoot the tower for VZW when things slow down.

I can achieve these speeds only in the wee hours of the morning. Usually 8-15 Mbps during the evening, and 15-20 during the day. UML290 + MBR95 + MIMO Yagis. I also have a UML295 and am eagerly awaiting AWS.
