| I right on the edge of full EVDO access. 2 miles away, I have no problem getting on the EVDO network. I can currently get national access at my house, but it is incredibly slow. Does anyone have any experience with the use of externally mounted antennas for solving this problem? I'm thinking of installing an antenna on the roof and putting a repeater in the house, but would like to have some confidence that it'll work before investing some cash. Version told me the EVDO network operates in the 1900 Mhz band. I live in Hillsborough, NJ. Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

pochi,
Can you give me the details on what you did and what equipment you used? I'm extremely encourged now!!! I have a Kyocera 650 card so I can connect an external antenna directly into it. There are a lot of different types of antennas and signal boosters out there.
Thanks again! |

If the desktop style antenna is not powerful enough to get you the EVDO signal here is what I would recommend:
Wilson Cellular Trucker antenna model 301101
3 Way mount for antenna model 901104
15 foot extension cable part number 951103
Adapter for Kyocera KPC 650 Part number 357014
I would recommend going this route as opposed to the wireless repeater or inline amplifier to start with. |

As long as you can place the booster antenna near a window facing out to pick up the Rf signal The Booster-antenna is a one stop solution. If that does not do the trick there are lots of options out there but I would try it first for ease of setup and use |
