Now at version 3.2.1 for Windows. I'm just now installing. It removes old version but you have to reboot before installing new version.

I need to clarify...
For Novatel S620, Connection Manager is at 3.2.1.
For Sierra 580, Connection Manager is at 3.2.6.
For phone as modem, Connection Manager is at 3.1.9.
(fixed)

I don't see anything about it. I also tried to send a text message to the phone number of the card and nothing happened. |

That is an interesting feature but is it useful if you also have a phone? What I like about the Sierra is you can force EVDO to prevent 1xRTT ping pong, though I haven't seen ping ponging yet on S620.
I just did some performance testing on S620 with new software, which is also a driver update.
Before the upgrade I usually peaked at 1.4Mbps and the highest I've seen is 1.6Mbps. I'm now getting several results at 1.7Mbps+ at same location (indoors!) with the upgrade. Never seen it that high.
Test yourself before/after installation at...

It appears that they shipped a PRL updater with this version. If we can get ahold of the latest .prl file, all you will need is the MSL (they gave me mine with the card) and you can use NWPRLDownloadSprint.exe in the "Sprint PCS Connection Manager" folder to update your card with the latest PRL.

^It should remove the old driver and then install the new one for you, but you do have to run install the upgrade twice to reboot after old drivers removed.
Nice find on the PRL updater netnut. I'll do some searches for PRL files. I've seen some places out there that post PRL files.
BTW, after the upgrade I get much better performance in my condo, which is a solid concrete hirise. Before I would get 500kbps to maybe 700kbps when not near a window. Now I get 900kbps or better deep in the building with only 2-3 bars (-92dbm). Outdoors is consistently 1Mbps+. Could be a fluke or another tower online but I could never get 900K in my home before, unless at window. |
