| Does anyone know if i can get the 59.99 a month mobile broadband deal with a sprint landline? Has anyone tried this? Im not thrilled with my local carrier and would't mind switching to sprint, especially if i could get the deal. I could do it under my business or personal name if that makes a difference. |

I know with Verizon, it has to be a Verizon Cell Phone, not landline. I will look into the Sprint side tomorrow and post the results. I am going to guess, since it is a different bill/division, it will only be for Sprint Cell Phones.
I will report back, when I know for sure.
If you want to send me a private message with your phone number, I can check if it qualifies. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Sprint is spinning off the local phone division as a separate company so it might not be possible. Sprint does have bundles with the major cable companies that offer local dialtone but I don't know if the $60/month wireless broadband can be applied to those accounts. I'd guess it would only tie to cellphone accts too. Will be interesting to see what Michael comes up with. |

I currently have a cingular family plan, so id have to buy new phones and pay for cancelling the contract if i swich them sprint. I'll check though when that contract expires.
I also have Cox cable HighSpeedIntenet and Telephone. If i can get the 59.99 deal i will dump Cox completly. Right now i only plan on cancelling the HSInternet after i get evdo.
I dont have a sprint phone number. If you give them any random sprint landline number and the computer accepts it then it will probably work for me too if i switch.
Again, i can do it on a business plan if need be.
Thank you so much. This is deffintly the best place online to buy evdo |

I don't have a sprint cell phone but I was able to go into a sprint store and talk with the manager and she got me on the 60 a month data plan. Down from the 80.
However, this was two months back when this stuff was still new. I think she was a little out of the loop on the plans.
But meh, I got it for 60 a month:) |

From my understanding it is offered only with a cellular voice plan currently. Or $79.99 a month without a cellular plan, with a one year contract... _________________ EVDO Addict. |

Confirmed. You need a Sprint Cell Phone Plan to get the $59.99, otherwise it is $79.99
Whenever, there are new plans and programs, sometimes, you can use the lack of knowledge of the person you are speaking to get lower rates. However, after a few weeks/months, most are up to speed on what is allowed and what isn't. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I belive that im going for the sprint evdo fo $80, and will cancel the cox internet after the 14 day return period.
The cingular rep i talked to told me that im supposed to get thier broadband service in the second half of 2006. His guess was that id have decent coverage around sepetember or octoberish. So, i could cancel my sprint evdo at that time, or i could wait till november when my family plan run contract expires and swich my phones to sprint. |

-mpteach,
FWIW, when I signed up for the data plan at a Sprint store, as a Nextel customer, I was never asked for my Nextel phone number. It's possible that the rep looked it up by name, but there was no indication of that. At one point, I asked if she needed to know my Nextel phone number or account number and she paused and said "let me see your phone." I flashed the Nextel logo on the back and that was the extent of it. I don't know if she would have even asked if I hadn't volunteered it.
Since I've not dealt with Sprint before, they set up a new account and did a new credit check. The billing systems are still separate and I now receive two bills. The Sprint bill makes no mention of the fact that I have a Nextel Account.
My guess is that the in-store sales rep might give you the $60 plan if you say that's the only way you can afford the service. You might be able to bluff your way through it too and pretend to have a line of Nextel service. When all else fails, borrow a friend's Nextel and use that number to get the $60 rate -- they won't link to his account in any way.
Good luck!

| That's exactly what I did. Said I had a Nextel account and they never questioned it. Never asked for the phone number or anything. It's worth a shot. Worked great for me. |
