Does anyone know if when using a Verizon Mifi 4510 as your sole internet connection for 4 devices (Mifi acts as the router & internal switch), if:
- Internal traffic LAN traffice (My two laptops connected to the Verizon mifi, transferring large files between each other), counts against your monthly GB limit (WWLAN traffic)?
- Any documentation that describes internal (LAN traffic)?

As long as it's local traffic then it shouldn't count against your monthly allotment. I'm not sure if you can locally route multiple computers with the MiFi only though, typically most people use a wireless router to network equipment.
You can find out more about LAN's here - Local Area Network
That should help you understand the difference between LAN and WAN connections. |

I believe this will answer your question...
LAN traffic is NOT counted against your 5 GB limit of data.
What IS counted is both Inbound and outbound internet requests.
This can be in the form of a simple web request or simply remaining connected to a chat session like on AIM, or MSN or Yahoo.
Loading a Multimedia web page like CNN.com could pose a threat to your data plan seeing all video and audio can easily put a strain on your monthly usage much faster than simple web requests.
Hope this helps.
This should answer your questions as to what are the more common applications for using data... http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/846/63/ _________________ - Victor |
