After installing Mac OS X Lion (10.7) on my MacBook Air, upon reboot, it gave me a message that I needed to re-install Sprint SmartView. So, I performed the upgrade and upon rebooting the Mac, I got this message:
This application has not yet been tested on 64-bit systems. Reboot in 32-bit mode for best results.
I will do more testing to see if different cards actually work.
Anyone upgrade to Lion and see different results with Sprint Smartview? _________________ EVDO :: 3G Routers :: 3G Antennas :: Verizon Data Cards :: Sprint Data Cards :: CloudCam |

I had this same issue. I reinstalled the software and get that error. When I plug in my sprint card (U301) it will say initializing and stall never allowing me to connect. I have called sprint and spoken with 3 support people now as well as searching the sprint forums. It apparently has been reported months ago and sprint recognized it as an issue but hasn't done anything about it.
When I called Sprint I was told to wait for new software which could take 6-12 months. Then as an example quoted their windows 7 support took over 6 months which is quite pathetic imo.
I have found that you can connect with 3g by connecting without sprint smartview:
open network preferences -> selecting the 3g connection
telephone number #777
leaving account name/password blank.

| Same problem here, found a site that suggested booting up in 32 bit mode by holding the 3 and 2 keys as computer boots up. has worked fine for me since then, but a pain when you forget to do so, hopefully a fix is coming soon. |

April 18, 2012 - After speaking at length today with Sprint about this 64 bit issue with my (QualComm CDMA) Franklin U301 device incompatibility with Mac OX Lion, we discovered that installing the SmartView software for a Merlin CC208 has the code to allow it to connect as it did before the update to Lion. |

Simply bypass smart view window and add sierra wireless device to
your networks ( open system preferences ) click on "networks " click the plus icon to add a network , computer should detect Sierra Wireless device ,device phone number is needed ... load driver , plug in device fill in the blanks ... be sure to load software and plug in USB or Express card 34 device prior to adding new network device . phone number assigned to device is entered
for example 123-456-7890 , your sprint password and name on account in
other blocks , default setting is fine with configuration ... click connect and add
to your menu bar for easy excess to connect daily
Good luck !
