|
|
I'd like to use a Buffalo DD-WRT wireless router/bridge as a bridge/repeater to extend the range of a MiFi2200 device.
I know others have done this but I can't find specifics on how to
do it.
I would have bought a cradlepoint device had I known how easy they
are to use in this fashion. However, I'm stuck with the Buffalo.
Can anybody walk me through how to set up the router/bridge up so I can access the internet thru the MIFI, thru the bridge?
I'm a networking newbie, so I need pretty detailed instructions. _________________ -Todd |

It sounds like you want your Buffalo wireless router to act as a repeater, meaning that it will receive a WiFi signal from the MiFi device, and re-broadcast (repeat) the wireless signal. Be aware, that when you do this, your throughput (speed) will essentially be cut in half, because in repeater mode, the router first receives the signal, then switches over to transmit and repeat the same information.
Hopefully this doesn't come off sounding like a 'brush-off', but your question has been thoroughly covered on the DD-WRT site. They have a complete setup (How-to) here... http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge
