PostPosted: Tue Mar 08, 2011 7:47 pm    Post subject: Who's got the fastest connection, join our SpeedWaves!

Speedtest.net just released a new tool that allows you to get more real time stats on connections tested all over the country! We've created some SpeedWaves for all the popular carriers and encourage our members to run a test or two with their connection to help us build an accurate depiction of each cellular carrier.

Click any of these to join to appropriate SpeedWave:
* Click to enter Verizon 3G SpeedWave
* Click to enter Verizon 4G LTE SpeedWave
* Click to enter Sprint/Clear 3G SpeedWave
* Click to enter Sprint/Clear 4G WiMAX SpeedWave
* Click to enter AT&T 3G SpeedWave
* Click to enter T-Mobile SpeedWave

You can view all the features of the SpeedWave here - SpeedWave - 3G/4G Real World Test Results

I tried running this on my Sprint 3g data card and on my phone. My data cards results show I am in Indiana instead of central Wisconsin but my phone shows Madison WI, but the phone will not post results because it switches to the speedtest app when I click on the speedwave link to test. Upload and download are both about 600K on card or Samsung Epic.

Thanks for running some tests guys! As more and more people run them the numbers should hopefully get much more accurate. If you run your mouse over the graph you can actually see each individual test result too.

WOW!!! That's the fastest upload I've heard of a customer hitting! For the most part a lot of our customers are reporting around 20Mbps up.

Thanks for running some tests to add to the list Laughing

It is now showing my 18.3 U/L speed. I will do it again when I am over at that part of town today. I must not have been on the page where it saves it to the Speedwave.
I was in a town called Roswell, Ga. It is a suburb of Atlanta.

hey i am so glad because it seems people were not contributing to the old map, which lists a handful of speed tests from 2007, 2009, etc.

maybe this one will be bookmark worthy.

that's what I was thinking too. on one page I see it says

Quote:
#252908687 Bronx, NY Optimum Online 1 1 week ago 31.50 Mb/s 4.98 Mb/s 10 ms

his/her location is close geographically to me (sort of) which makes me green with envy. what i don't understand is the column that says "ISP". if this person is posting on the Sprint/Clear 4G page, then why do we need to know what ISP he's using? is that even relevant? Sprint or Clear would be his/her ISP, right? sorry if i sound rude, I'm just trying to figure all of this out.

I returned my CTR35 for a MBR900 and what a difference it makes in my speeds. I am in a 3G area now and it really helped. I can't wait to do a Speedwave tommorow in a 4G area with this new one.

Wait and see!

LOL. These reports are all screwed up. People are posting results from their home and work internet and not their wireless.
