So Here is the full story, I got Verizon EVDO from Milliencom about 20 days ago. It has been working flawlessly, I Had a little of a weak signal but bought a signal booster and get around -68 to -74 now. For Christmas someone bought me the Cradlepoint MBR1K and I have been using it for a few days now. Last night I was playing on xbox live and noticed it was getting really laggy. Beyond playable. Today the same thing, so I unplug the USB760 from the router and plug it into my PC to see what is going on. To my suprise I can not connect to EVDO. Only 1XRTT, If I set the device to EVDO Only it gives the error message of, Remote Computer did not respond. Error 678. The EVDO Service goes from no service to full signal every 5mins. I can not figure out if, its the tower im on having issues or if its just mine. I called Millencom and they said a Supervisor would call me back but havent heard back yet. Has anyone heard of this problem and possibly know of any solutions. As 1XRTT is just too slow...Any help is greatly appreciated

From my experience what you described is probably a tower issue. I'll get that every few weeks or so. Usually resolves itself after a few hours, or sometimes sooner. Nothing I really ever had to call about.

That's originally what I thought but my neighbor who is just a few feet away has it also and her evdo is working fine. Plus it's been 2 days now. After awhile on phone last night. The tech seems to think it's the dongle. So there sending me a new dongle. Hope that fixes it.

Search around on error 678, that does happen from time to time. It typically, is a problem with your account.

At times, we have to get the actual carrier involved and they can usually re-provision the account and it solves the problem. Since, you go through Milliencom, you need them to make any account changes (ie, you cannot call Verizon, because the account is in your name).
