I just got a new PPC-6700 up and running, but have been surprised that the Sprint PCS Vision/EVDO connection is considerably faster than WiFi. I've got a very fast fiber-optic internet connection, and on my laptop and desktop units my typical download speeds exceed 5 Mbps. Yet, the PPC-6700 seems to languish when I'm using WiFi on this same netowrk. When I turn WiFi off and switch to the Sprint EVDO network my connection and download speeds increase significantly.

Seems to me it should be the other way around. Even though EVDO is great, I'd expect to get better speeds with WiFi. I've been concerned that maybe I've got a setting wrong.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

This is normal. You are limited by pocket IE and the processor speed of the device.
Microsoft in their infinite wisdom for what ever reason didn’t optimize pocket IE for high speed data connections

You might want to take a t look at this link.

Thanks. I guess I'll just use EVDO and resort to WiFi when I'm traveling outside an EVDO service area. Perhaps I'm lucky. I live five to ten minutes from DFW airport, and I've heard that EVDO was up at the major airports first. The Sprint EVDO speeds from my home are impressive, so I'll stop complaining about the WiFi.
