Why is "NovaCore SDK Service (NvtlService)" running on my machine? The Service is listed as "Provides support for 3rd party developers of NovaCore applications." I am not a 3rd party developer of anything.

What is a "NovaCore application"? Why do I need a "core software development kit" running on a stand alone user machine?

Why is file NvtlSdk.dll Novacore SDK NvtlSdk on my machine in a folder "C:\Program Files\Novatel Wireless\Novacore\Server"? How do you think it got there?

Win XP SP2, Dell Inspiron 1501, Sprint Wireless Broadband via WiFi from a Clearpoint Wireless BB router & Sierra 598U modem; sometimes connect the modem directly to the computer and use Sprint's Smartview to connect.

Novacore SDK was developed by Novatel to promote the development of of applications on Novatel devices. At any point have you had one of the Novatel Wireless modems installed on your computer?

That is part of the software package that comes with your Sierra U598 EVDO AT card.
