This was just a nightmare of driver installs that net resulted in not working at all. When the card is plugged in, Windows hardware discovery finds many sub-systems on the card and installs drivers for them, but then gets hung up on installing drivers for "data interface".
Some other postings implied that one needed to update the drivers for the "O2 Micro SmartCardBus", and indeed there are newer ones for that from Dell on their site. Alas, after well over two hours, we couldn't get *that* installer to update.... And we are both computer software professionals!
Since I only needed the card in a Windows machine for activation, we just used a different laptop (an IBM Thinkpad) and were off and running. The card now resides happily in my PowerBook! |

| I am also a tech and have had lots of driver conflict with the S620 merlin. I have a HP Pavilion zv6000 and it still crashes when I game online. (only when using the Merlin card) |

| I have a HP Pavilion zv6000 and have also had windows blue screen on me. When my connection manager updated it pushed a firmware update from Merlin to the card and it has since stopped crashing windows. Firmware is now ver:155 PRL:20218. It has been 2 days since that update. I hope this is helpful. I had a very difficult time finding Ideas on a fix. |

Hi Guys, I just tried to get a Merlin S620 installed on my Acer laptop, with no success. My laptop runs Windows XP x64 edition.
The Sprint connection manager runs, but the drivers for the card would not install, and the card is not recognized at all.
Any ideas? |

Unfortunately, the Merlin 620 is not compatible with many laptops. Your best bet would be the Air Card 580. It is compatible with a lot more laptops. _________________

| I question horsessmellfunny's reply since some people, if not all, are having issues with this "device interface" problem even though others with the same laptops aren't. |
