This is my third CTR500. The first two were replaced under warranty. The first one didn't work at all. The second one had the wireless radio die. I've been using this one for about 5 days.

Every 15 minutes or so, it seems to reset itself. Not just drop the signal, but completely reset itself. The wireless shuts down, the wired connection to my laptop shuts down, it drops the cell connection and has to redial, everything.

I don't get it, and it's starting to make me crazy. What's going on here?

I discovered today that it resets itself constantly even when I don't have the modem running through it. I've got the modem hooked directly to my laptop, and I'm just using the router to network the laptop to my desktop.

I'm about 5 minutes from asking for a refund.

Have you confirmed the CTR500 ethernet port is set to LAN mode and not WAN mode. I can't imagine why that would cause the router to crash but it is at least a thought.

I have a desktop connected to the ethernet port on a CTR500 and I don't see this crash/reset behavior.

Are you running the latest firmware? Have you tried a previous version?

Yes.

Yes. Doing that update was the first thing I did when it arrived.

Nope. Didn't have a problem with router #2 and older firmware though. I'll try it.

It's official. My router can die in a fire. I switched back to the prior firmware, played with some settings increasing the timeouts, and it's still a piece of crap. The router reset itself three times before I could get this site to load.

I want my money back.

I have not yet called tech support. But I'm wondering.... could overheating be causing it to reset?
