Like so many others, several 3Gstore/EVDOinfo employees were eager to get their iPhone 4 today.

One of the first things we did was test out the FaceTime feature, which allows you to make video calls with other iPhone 4 users. The downfall to FaceTime is that it only works over WiFi - you CANNOT use Facetime while your phone is connected to AT&T's 3G network. For folks who want to use FaceTime on the road, connecting to a 3G or 4G mobile hotspot is a great solution!

We tested FaceTime over 3G and 4G and put together a video demonstration as well as a number of recommendations for mobile WiFi options to use with your iPhone 4.

For folks concerned about the 5GB allowance Sprint and Verizon impose on 3G usage, FaceTime does not use as much data as one might think - about 140MB/hour, which is less data than a Skype video chat uses.
