I found that while selecting DHCP on a client device will cause the device to
show up with its properly assigned IP address in the Status>>WiFi page, if I
configure the device with a static IP, subnet mask, etc., it will still properly
connect to the router and be at its assigned IP address (confirmed
with ping) but the Status>>WiFi page will show its IP as 0.0.0.0.

Is this just a bug in the status display, or does it mean the router is doing a
broadcast for that device? Wouldn't that be inefficient? I prefer using the
static IP but the fact that it doesn't show up correctly has me concerned. Sad

If you add a DHCP reservation for a client machine even if you are setting it statically on the client it will then show up on the wireless page. There isn't any issue with what you are doing, the router just can't match up the WiFi mac address with a DHCP table which is how it generates that page.
