Hi,

I am trying to come up with a solution for connecting devices that can use WiFi but no Cisco VPN (in this case, handheld surveyor GPS units) to connect to our work network (through a Cisco VPN Concentrator.)

I noticed that the MBR1200 has *some type* of VPN support. Would I be able to connect an EVDO card to it, and have the router connect to our work VPN, then have the GPS unit connect to the MBR1200 through WiFi and use that VPN connection? (I know, that sounds complicated.... :/)

Does anyone else have a better solution for this?

Thanks in advance.

You could accomplish that with an MBR1200, however in our experience with these units, you will have a much easier time with this setup if you were able to make your VPN data packets TCP rather than UDP based.

You will have a much better chance for success;-)

Thanks for the info. Smile

Unfortunately, my team does not manage the VPN concentrator, and the team that does is unlikely to make modifications to its settings.
What kind of issues can I expect, if if they are left as UDP? Performance issues or actual connectivity problems?

You will in most cases not be able to make a connection at all, pretty much making thing useless.

You have 14 days from the date of delivery to test it out in your own environment without being penalized for returning the product.

Best I can advise at this time is to give it a go, if it does not work, return it for a full refund minus shipping fees.
