|
|
Just got a Verizon MiFi2200 yesterday.
The unit has a factory default name (SSID) and password.
How do I change this?
I have read the book that came with the device; I’ve read online using Google searches people talking about doing this but no one says how.
Thank you for your help. |

While connected to the mifi via wireless or ethernet, go to your brower's address and type in 192.168.0.1. This will bring you to the cradlepoint admin page. The default password is the last of six of the mac address unless you have changed it.
Under the basic tab, go to wireless and it is there that you can change the SSID and key.
Good luck. |

Thank you for your fast reply.
In a new tab of my internet explorer address bar I paste 192.168.0.1. and hit enter.
The address changes to
| Code: | | http://192.168.0.1./ | and in the box below I see:
Oops! This link appears to be broken.
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong? |

You're doing it correctly. I think it is just down at the moment. Mine is also inaccessible. Try again a little later. |

Don't use a period at the end:
| Code: | | http://192.168.0.1/ |
or if you are connected through your mifi now:
http://192.168.0.1/ |

Thank you.
I got it!
Without the period it worked.
I have changed the login "admin" password, the SSID name and the WiFi password to something that is more memorable to me plus now that I know how to do it I can re-change the WiFi password every now and again like I change all my passwords.
Again, thank you!
I have a new question about knowing the battery charge level but I’ll start a new thread since it’s a new topic. |

| I want to protect my wifi by adding a password and changing the SSID name, but a recent Windows service pack has screwed up my computer so that I can't open up the D-Link program that manges my router. Is there some other way I can do this without going through D-Link?How do I change my Wifi SSID name and add a password? |

You mention a D-Link program, but we were discussing the MiFi - was that a mistake? Or are you looking for help with a D-Link router? Or are you using a D-Link in conjunction with the MiFi somehow...? |
