I have a 3G card with Sprint, and that stupid 5Gb limit like so many others here.

So I call today, because last month I went over, like so many others here.

I asked, "can I purchase another Gb or two for a flat fee so I do not go over my cap again?"

The response, "how about for $9.99 /mo more we'll give you unlimited data usage on your current 3G card?"

I said, "what!?" He said, "sure, we just got authorization to upgrade people."

So I said, "HECK YA DUDE, make it happen!"

Here is the proof:

My guess? I got bumped to the 3G/4G for $59.99 /mo plan even though I don't have 4G coverage in my area yet which gives me the unlimited access.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

P.S. I am not new here, I just forgot my password and username and had to sign up again.

The 3G/4G Plan that Sprint has is 5GB/mo for 3G and Unlimited on 4G.

We are looking into this from our deep Sprint contacts to see what we can find.

BTW, we can easily reset your password of your previous forum name if you remember it.

That would be a breath of fresh air for those of us in rural areas with no options except dial up.. satellite..and have just enough 3G coverage to be able to be paroled from satellite..

Guess the only way to find out is to give them a call..

All I ask, is that if they screwed up, don't ruin it for me! Smile

I am in a rural area with limited access to anything but Sprint and Verizon 3G.

I will wait for Michael to chime in... definitely wouldn't want to ruin this for anyone Smile

Quick question. When you called, did you get transferred to the "Retention Department"?

Don't worry, we won't ruin anything for you Smile BUT if this is a legit option, it will be a huge boon to many many customers.

Completely understood.

No they didn't transfer me to retention. I simply called the main number and spoke with a standard customer service agent. My new best friend.

Can you tell us if your Sprint account is based on your Social Security Number, Business Federal Tax ID, or did you get your account because you are an employee for a very large corporation?

Well congrats to you natattack !

I will wait patiently for our chance to be included..

As it is now, I really can't complain, I was in satellite prison, and have been paroled...

One day we will be free! Laughing

Thanks for sharing and hopefully some others can take advantage of this news!

There are 3 types of accounts:

1) Based on Social Security Number (personal acct)
2) Based on Federal Tax ID (business acct)
3) Employee acct through large corporate account or large corporate acct (usually buy direct, offer employee discounts, etc)/

Typically, the unlimited account has never been removed from account type #3.
