I usually run VZAccess instead of MCM. If I enter the debug mode using MCM to force an EVDO channel, are those changes physically downloaded into the 5220 or are they simply acted upon when MCM is executed?

I want to continue running VZA, but switch to MCM when I'm in areas where EVDO channel access needs to be forced. If I have the debug settings entered, I don't want to have to change them back. I want to have my cake and to eat it too.

Comments?

The debug modes entered thru the engineering menu of mcm remain when you switch to vzacess and will stay as set (force evdo, hybrid, or force cdma only - 1xrtt) until you use debug mode with mcm to change them back. One thing i've noted if HDR only is set is that vzacess shows "boadband" in the bottom status bar of its window when its actually in operating in 1xrtt, and shows "national access" when its running in broadband evdo. This is backwards to the actual .. In other words, if you opt for HDR only mode thru mcm debug, you'll see "broadband" when vza is on the 1xrtt and "national access" when vza is on the evdo. In mcm it reports the proper evdo or 1xrtt as its rx/tx'ing them.
