Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie here. I did numerous searches to see if I could find a solution before posting, but was unsuccessful.

I recently upgraded my firmware on my Merlin X720 express card to M6800A-Raptor-VZW-160 (Nov. 26, 2008). Well now I can't connect at all. It keeps saying my username and password is not valid. According to VZW and other documentation, a username/password is not even required. I did go to VZW manager and activated the device, which was successful.

So I am trying to restore my card back to M6800A-Raptor-VZW-141 (Apr. 04 2007).

Can anyone help me locate this firmware version or offer a solution? I don't know the phone number of the device as it is a corporate account and if I tell them I upgraded the firmware, they will have my head, LOL.

Thanks,

CG

I doubt you will easily be able to download the firmware.

What version of VZAccess Manager are you running?

A user/pass error usually indicates that there is a account problem, usually someone forgot to pay the bill Wink . However; since this occurred immediately after you performed the firmware upgrade, I would assume that your device lost its programming info, have you tried re-activating it or doing manual programming?

I tried the reactivation without success.

I found this topic http://www.evdoforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=9527&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

I did what jbofsc recommended as listed below:
Here is a fix for Error 920:

First, make sure you have gone into Options and Activation with the VZ Access Manager.

With VZ Access Manager open, Press [CTRL] + [T] at the same time. A black dialogue box should appear.

Type in lower case with no spaces:
at$qcmipep=1 Press Enter on the keyboard and it should be followed with OK
at$qcmipp=0 Press Enter on the keyboard and it should be followed with OK.

Press [ALT]+[F4] keys at the same time and that will close the black dialogue box.

Reboot the computer and restart, go into VZAM and try connecting.
[/list]

THis worked like a charm. My IT people were wondering how I fixed the problem, I didn't tell them as I am keeping this secret to myself, LOL. Being a computer geek I like having a hand up on IT people, LOL.

Thanks for the replys.
