|
|
I just "upgraded" to a Franklin 3G/4G U301 from a Sierra 3G 595U and noticed that my speeds are about half of what they used to be according to the Sprint Speedtest site.
With the 595U I was getting up to 2Mbps with it hovering around 1.7Mbps the majority of the time. With the new modem I'm only getting up to 1Mbps with average around 0.6Mbps.
The U301 also doesn't even work with my Kyocera KR2.
Anybody know what's going on?
I'm actually thinking of switching back to my old modem if I can't get this issue resolved. |

Since Kyocera is no longer providing firmware updates for the KR2, the U301 or any other 4G device isn't supported. You would need a 4G Router for it to work.
Note: None of the Cradlepoint 4G routers currently support the U301, but we are expecting it to be supported soon |

| Hi thanks for the info, do you know if there will be a new firmware upgrade for the MBR900 to support the U301? That's the router I plan on getting to replace my KR2. The MBR1200 is nice but I don't need all of those features so the higher price isn't justified for my needs. |

I would expect that the next version of firmware for the MBR900 would include U301 support, but I haven't heard anything official. Cradlepoint is really good/quick at adding support for new devices |

| Cool, In the meantime I think I'll do a ESN swap while I wait for the U301 support for the MBR900. I pray that when the MBR900 supports the U301 it will allow my speeds to go back up to where the 595U is. |
