I recently signed up for Alltel's wireless internet plan since I move a lot and now live in the country. I have been getting 1.2 Mbps down and 0.3 Mbps up since I signed up 3 weeks ago.

However, I noticed that CSS, JS, and other external files are parsed inline for most, if not all websites I visit. This doesn't happen when I access internet through another ISP using my laptop.

I look at the source code of web pages frequently since I am a web designer and developer.

How it's supposed to look:

How Alltel parses the file:

Has anyone else noticed this? I would like to contact Alltel, but I don't think they would understand the issue. See http://dandreifort.wordpress.com/2009/10/20/verizon-alltel-facebook-errors/.

I've never heard of this before, are you using the same computer & browser, that you are using with your other ISP?

Yes, I am using same computer and browser. It happens with all browsers on my computer (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari).

It sounds like Verizon and Alltel do this to "save bandwidth."

Sounds to me you installed the "Optimization" program included with most access managers. Uninstall the access manager, do a custom install without the "Optimization" add-on.

While I do have the Alltel Quicklink program installed, I connect to the internet through a Cradlepoint MBR1000 router. So, I don't think this is the problem.

Well, the problem is that it happens with most all websites (evdoforums.com, for example), not just the ones I upload.

Here's the only other mention of this problem that I could find:

hundreds (or more) of verizon/alltel users visit evdoforums 24x7

if it were a widespread issue, you'd see more people mention it here.
