Background (which you probably all know) - Sprint and Clear both sell the Franklin U300 USB Modem which delivers 4G where the Clear WiMax network is up and also provides service on Sprint's 3G network (when WiMax is not available).

There are a number of Wifi routers coming out that will take a USB 3/4G modem and distribute that connection through 802.11 b/g/n to a small local area network. Basically a roaming hotspot. Good for conferences, people from the company on a road trip to client's site, traveling with the wife and we both want to get on the internet, etc.

I just bought an Aluratek 3G Wireless USB Cellular Router - CDW530AM and have been able to get it running with the Clear version of the Franklin U300.

Question, when both networks are present, does anyone know how to select which network to use?

Based on the speeds I'm seeing, I think I'm connecting via the 3G network, not 4G. I'll do some research over the next few days and post whatever I discover but thought if anyone else is trying this setup, I'd post to see if anyone made some progress on this.
