a Sr Systems Design Specialist with handset EV-DO design and/or integration
experience. This is a full time position based in Dallas, salary up to

Candidate will be involved in system design of an advanced wireless system.
Responsibilities include translating product requirements into system
requirements, protocols and system component interface design, performance
trade-off studies, and documentation of system specification and design.
The role will require close interaction with product managers, software
developers, system integration and test groups.

Responsibilities - Design of product at system level and focus on
integration of BB HW, RF HW, SW and mechanics.

* Interface to all disciplines to define the product at the system level to
meet performance and product requirements.
* Distribute product platform design requirements to system block level and
allocation of requirements to those blocks
* Define interfaces between system blocks
* Energy management trade-offs, roadmaps and requirements
* Responsible for integration of hardware and software in the lab
environment once product and/or engine design has begun.
* Responsible for system test of platform to ensure that it is ready for
the Product Test line and interface to Product Test engineers.
* Responsible for feedback of product performance to all other disciplines

The candidate must have the following competencies.

-BS or MS in EE -Min 8-10 years of Telecommunications industry experience
in following areas-Proven problem solving skills

-Min 4 years experience working with CDMA technology systems design,
development and testing with comprehensive understanding of modern wireless
telecommunications systems. -
-Familiar with IS-95B/IS-2000/AMPS/EV-DO/Bluetooth/GPS specifications,
development and testing techniques and testing equipment.
-In-depth knowledge of IS-98D/E, IS-898 and TIA-916 specifications. -
-Experience with CDMA IS-95A/B, IS2000 Layer2 / Layer 3 signaling,
High-speed data signaling, wireless data and Bluetooth is a must.
-Symbian experience is a big plus.
-At least 2 years of C or C++ programming experience.

The successful candidate must know:
Strongly desired: EV-DO development experience.
1) Good understanding of wireless communication theory, especially the key
technologies used in EV-DO.
2) Good understanding of EV-DO standard, including minimum performance
standard
3) Good understanding of EV-DO field performance issues
4) Good understanding of the EV-DO behaviors or algorithms on the
infrastructure side.
5) Team player, good communicator.

-HW/SW co-design of electronic systems
-Rx/TX Architectures
-Experience with TI DSP is a plus.
