Yes, I know it's out of date. But I have one and I am thinking of changing EVDO providers. Every pointer I find to KR1 compatibility seems to be dead. I'd just like to know if any current EVDO dongles/cards are usable.

Alternatively... has anyone had any luck getting Verizon to unlock evdo devices?

nothing currently available from any carrier is supported/compatible with the KR1, and never will be. kyocera has told us they are out of the mobile broadband market altogether.

your best bet is to get a new http://3gstore.com/cradlepoint

Novatel 720u works ... As long as you are using XP.
I have had some issues getting the settings right with Windows 7, but it does work well when it feels like it.
