does anyone know if Verizon has made changes to their towers to detect the use of repeaters and to configure their towers to degrade accordingly?

I'm using a Wilson product with my MiFi2200 and I'm not seeing any improvement and in fact, it appears to me that the speed is actually slower if I'm using the antenna/repeater.

If Verizon's initial complaint was that such devices essentially interfere with their ability to allocate bandwidth to multiple users.. then it would make sense why they did not put external antenna ports on the MiFi2200.

I also noticed at the Verizon store -when I inquired about which phones they sold - had external antenna ports.. they were circumspect ... one guy told me that they phased out such phones an no longer offered them.

Another said there were available but that they did not sell external antennas themselves an that they did not recommend them.

so I'm thinking Verizon has not changed their stance on the use of repeaters and antennas but that more than likely they have figured out how to defeat their use and thus no longer care who buys them or who sells them.

tell me where I got this wrong.
