Just got my 6700 and for the past couple of days after installing the
activesync, it wont sync. The green wheel just keep spinning on my
laptop (os-windowsxp). I used to have the activesync 3.5 for my
pda audiovox maestro but that has been uninstalled longtime ago.(but
it worked very well then).
Also I couldnt get my wireless headset bluetooth hs820 working
with this phone. any suggestions pls? thanks

Can't get my hs820 to work with my 6700 either. Gonna research compatibility.
Regarding your Activesync problem: When it's in the cradle, touch the screen of your 6700 and you'll see a "duplication warning". Select your way out of it and Activesync will startup.

I've been using the Opera mobile browser for my PPC-6700. It is beta, but still pretty nice.

I hope they release the final soon. They just released beta 2. This beta has tabs and is much more stable than beta 1.

I agree, the Opera browser on the 6700 is very cool.

If you can't sync with USB, but can sync with bluetooth, the problem is your firewall. USB uses the windows TCP/IP stack; bluetooth does not. I don't know the port numbers to open, but they are in the manual (I just decided to use the bluetooth).

Another problem is using VPN at the same time as a USB sync. Depending on what you are using for remote access, both VPN and USB will be modifying the stack. For me, this resulted in one or the other breaking. Again, using bluetooth, you won't get these problems.

There is a firmware update for the PPC-6700. I updated mine and it is a BIG improvement.

Here is the link to the instructions and software update:
http://www4.sprint.com/pcsbusiness/support/downloads/index.jsp?internalId=downloads

Then select the Windows CE OS and you will see the update for the PPC-6700 and link to the instructions at the top of the list.

Here is a direct link to the update link:

I believe my question was answered in the negative above so forgive my asking again if it was.

The 6700 has wifi so my question is whether or not it will act as a wifi bridge between EVDO and my MacBook Pro as the KR-1 will.

If it will, I may have found the phone I want.
