PX-500 card/XP- download speed VERY slow since yesterday

I'm using a Sprint PX-500 card, windows XP and have for over a year with no problems. Speed has been satisfactory... until yesterday. I'm in Texas ~25 miles south of San Antonio. Since last night, speed has deteriorated to the point where pages simply will not load. It took a good 30 seconds for this message window to load. Crying or Very sad

I went to speedtest.net and the screen with the map and icon that says "preparing download" sat there for two minutes and didn't move or change. I couldn't get other speedtest sites to load at all.

My virus/malware protection is up-to-date.

I'm stumped. Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.

I just checked the download speed with Sprint Smartview. It said 645 Kb/s. That strikes me as baloney, since a few minutes ago I tried to download a page that had multiple photos and after about five minutes, all the photos still had not loaded.

Confused

ETA: well, the edit button wasn't there a minute ago... slow loading...

We're about forty miles north of San Antonio, and getting the same speeds. However, I checked my cell phone, and where we are sitting, the signals are very weak.
