I got my CTR350, upgraded to the latest firmware 2.4.5, did Hard Reset.

I disabled WiFi and connected CTR350 to my PC via Ethernet.

I tried it with my USB EVDO modems Novatel U720 and Sierra U597 on Telus and Bell Canada networks.

It works ok, but upload/download speeds are always less than those with the modems connected to my PC directly. On average, the CTR350 speeds are 40-70% of the speeds with direct USB connection to PC.

For example, with direct USB connection I have 500k down and 250k up

with CTR350 I have 300k down and 100k up.

WHY? Would it have anything to do with PAP/CHAP authorization and Simple IP/Mobile IP?

Also, I disabled SPI and 'Traffic Shaping' as follows:
Firewall Settings -> 'Enable SPI' -- unchecked
'Trafic Shaping' -> 'Enable Traffic Shaping' -- unchecked

What speeds are you getting when you are directly connected, and what speeds are you getting when connected via the router?

Those results are when you are connected to the router via ethernet? How many devices do you have connected to the CTR350?

It might be worthwhile to make some adjustments to the router itself to see if that makes a difference. Often it is useful to disable traffic shaping and SPI or stateful packet inspection in the router. To do this you would log in to the router and go under the advanced tab. On the left there are links for traffic shaping and there is another for firewall where the SPI setting is located.

Were those changes done before or after the upgrade? If they were done before the changes might have gotten wiped out in the router.

After the upgrade. I did not use my router before the upgrade at all.

Have you tried downgrading the firmware to see if a previous version works better for your scenario?
