on the official launch day for Windows 7, it looks like all of the Sprint EVDO Cards are supporting Win7 with the latest SmartView software. The current version is: 2.27.0064.
We understand that some Sierra Wireless data cards may have native support built-in to Windows 7 (no need for Sprint SmartView).

I've been using 7 different Sprint USB and ExpressCard devices with the latest available SmartView software for months on Windows 7. I never waited for a Windows 7 "supported" version. In fact, everyone in my office that uses air cards has been using whatever the latest available version was available for months on Windows 7. No issues. Just because Sprint doesn't specifically state it is for Windows 7 doesn't really mean that you'll have an issue.
Interestingly, I can use any version of SmartView for the 7 different devices, regardless of device manufacturer. I don't need to install the specific one for any of the specific devices. I downloaded the one for the EX720 and use several Novatel and Sierra devices, including the MiFi. They all work, including firmware and PRL updates.

The latest SSV software works fine in Windows 7 (RC) with my U720, Win& also installed drivers for the card automatically when I popped it into the machine so a dialup connection can be set up for it as well with no additional driver software needed. _________________ BITF, PITM |
